If you are going to stay in one place for several months, there are many things to consider. Is it affordable? Do they have good quality internet? How is the local culture?

I have traveled extensively around the world as a digital nomad. Out of the places I've visited, one has become my favorite: Budapest.

The appeal of Budapest as a hotspot for digital nomads is undeniable. I first came here after hearing about the meager cost of living and the relaxed lifestyle. This is what I experienced:

    Cost of living
It's so cheap to live as a digital nomad in Budapest! If you stay here for a month, getting an apartment or a room is the best option. You can pay as little as 100-300 euros for a room, depending on the location and your luck.

Food is relatively cheap, but not much lower than the average EU level. However, this is only the case in supermarkets; you can get some very inexpensive bites at most restaurants. Two-course lunch menus are often as little as 4 euros for one person. You can get a pizza delivered for 5 euros, and there are many other cheap options! Digital nomads will surely not starve in Budapest.

The nightlife is also very inexpensive. You can get a pint of beer for an average price of 1-2 euros in a bar. In other words, the cost will be no problem!

    Good internet
I found good internet in most places. There are a lot of coffee shops and restaurants that offer excellent WIFI. A good tip is to ensure your flat is well-equipped in this area before moving in.

There are also a lot of affordable co-working offices that offer great internet. This is an excellent option if you are tired of working from home or a Starbucks.

    The culture
Hungarians can seem a little rude when you first arrive. This impression will be erased after a while. You can meet so many friendly people in this city, and they are primarily laid back. Just go out and have some fun while making new friends!

Overall, I have never found another city that can compete with Budapest. The cheap cost of living, European amenities, and a good quality of life are a clear winner!

If you are looking for a place to stay for some months, you should consider Budapest. The city is incredibly vibrant in the summer months, with many people coming to experience the Hungarian capital.
