GuestThe main advantage of becoming a digital nomad lies in the concept itself. It allows you to work from wherever you want. If you're going to work from a beach resort one month, then from an Airbnb apartment in a metropolis the next, you can. If that freedom is essential to you, finding a job you can do as a digital nomad is a great choice.
The drawbacks are plenty. It may slow down your career, as you cannot work the social ladder in the office or meet colleagues socially that often. Sitting in a beach bar doing tedious work can be lonely while everyone around you has fun. Some people develop mental issues such as depression or substance abuse from the lack of structure. Your pay may be lower as you're part of a global labor market. It can get expensive over time, as you will be spending money hiring places to live instead of investing in them. Your working hours may be hard to reconcile with your time zone, and you should expect that people will expect you to be online 24/7. Also, many contracts for digital nomads are short-term, giving low job security.
