GuestMyanmar is a pretty poor place for digital nomads. Power outages are still common, internet access is expensive and unreliable, and the cost of living in the country (particularly Yangon, which has the best internet infrastructure) is very high.
While the first two have been improving slowly over the past few years, the cost of living has increased. Expect accommodation to cost twice as much as nearby digital nomad hubs Saigon and Chiang Mai, which are much lower quality.
Mobile phone access is a reasonably new phenomenon in the country, and the service is spotty at best. 1GB of 3G internet access will cost you between $7-$10.
The typical visa (tourist visa) is suitable for 28 days and will cost most people USD 50 for an eVisa. You can overstay for $3/day, but a new visa must be applied outside the country. Visa runs are tiring and time-consuming overland, and most people choose to fly in and out instead.
The central location in Myanmar would be Yangon, followed by Mandalay. Pyin Oo Lwin may be a futuristic location for the digital future. It is a university town that the government once hoped would become the country's "Silicon Valley".
There are two co-working spaces in Yangon, but again, in comparison to neighbouring digital nomad hotspots, the costs are much higher (~$15/day), and the quality is lower.
