Though there is no one-way system, here is some helpful advice if you want to be a "digital nomad," whatever that means to you.

It means that I can travel and work wherever I want.

Now is probably the easiest time for you to work for yourself and be a digital nomad. Why do I say this? Because I've been in your shoes, looking for ways to finance my travels.

But I will not make it seem like you can pick up and leave everything behind and travel the world tomorrow; it will take work, but it's doable.

    How?

It comes down to mindset, finances, and how much you want it.

    1.

    Mindset

Life on the road is not for everyone; historically, people who traveled were not the cream of the crop of society. Ex.. Sailors, pirates, explorers, outlaws. But what they all had in common was a sense of adventure and that the grass was greener on the other side. You will find out that sometimes it is and sometimes it's not.

You have to change your mindset to being comfortable with being uncomfortable because no matter how much you plan, shit will go wrong sometime.

You have to change your mindset and look at it from a long-term perspective because it's a lifestyle rather than just something you try.

    (Story Time)

After high school, I didn't want to go to college immediately, so I took a gap year. I didn't have the finances to travel, so I devised creative solutions to acquiring finances. At pasta parties, my friends made art that I helped them sell, and I SOLD EVERYTHING I owned besides what I could carry in a 40L camping pack. This included my red Honda Civic, which I loved, but that's the price for action. I wanted adventure and to see the world more than materialist comfort.

    Minimalism

How does minimalism play into this? After selling everything, I saved enough money to travel for the year, living in each country for at least a month. I have been to Europe, Africa, and the SEA.

What I found was that I didn't need that much. You will find this out as you start to travel. Think of you as a digital nomad, like a plane. You have your plane all filled up with everything you think you will need on the trip, but you soon will realize that it's heavy and you don't need much to be happy and have an adventure.

You will start to drop stuff when you go, giving stuff away or bargaining your things with other people's stuff. A minimalist view will help you be "lighter" in your travels.

    2. Finances

As I have mentioned before how, I financed my travels, which, looking back on it, is very DIY and not very efficient at times. Now that I have graduated college and have professional work experience, I have more value to offer the world.

    Digital Marketing

While selling everything you own and saving up is an option, it's not the best option if you want to be on the road long-term. That's why I took a digital marketing course online for three months, which cost me $300 in total, and I learned an in-demand skill that I can turn into a career. Even though I have a college degree, you don't need one, and you can make $60k in the first year in an ad agency.

This is the shit they don't teach in college, how to hustle. I talk about digital marketing because I have experience in it and have seen how getting a $60k year job is straightforward.

*Let me know if you are interested; I have a course and business mentor that I would recommend.*

Getting trained and finding a job to work remotely later is easy. The time frame for this type of job is 1 to 2 years before you become comfortable working for yourself.

    High Ticket Sales

The second career I would recommend is high ticket sales, but the buy-in value to play is $2500, meaning the course costs that much. This job will also allow you to travel and work remotely.

I have not done the training, but I have friends in sales who are pretty happy with their jobs and allow them to travel whenever they want.

    3. How bad do you want it?

It just comes down to this. How badly do you want this to happen? If it's a dream you think is worth chasing, do it. Now more than ever, it's easier to travel the world. Look at the millions of blog posts about it on YouTube or Instagram. People are doing it. You can learn from those who have done it by reading through books or blogs.
